Branch explores how an ordinary industrial material can become something expressive.
The form was developed intuitively in CAD as an interpretation of natural growth, shaped by the constraints of aluminum tubing and the realities of manufacturing. Each branch was CNC bent, positioned in custom jigs and welded into a single sculptural structure and finished in a white powder coat.
LEDs placed at the end of each branch reverse the relationship between a tree and light. Rather than absorbing light to grow, this synthetic tree releases it into the surrounding space.
The piece demonstrates how a familiar material can move beyond utility and become atmospheric, organic and unexpected
